On January 28, 2009, in News, by William Reynolds

We’re putting together a committee with students from all years and backgrounds who demonstrate an interest in civic engagement and want a chance to come up with and implement initiatives to foster civic engagement at The University. Fill out the app below and get it in by February 6th at 5pm if you’re interested.

This voting scheme is fraudulent. Anyone can vote as many times as they please, making the results a matter of which individuals voted the most, not what the democratic majority has chosen. This could have been easily been avoided by having people type in their UVA ISSUED EMAIL ADDRESS when voting, so that everyone is only allowed to vote once, and it ensures only UVA students, faculty, etc are voting. Anyone can vote for this important issue with this system, and as many times as they please. With University of Virginia constantly referring to their honor code as a source of pride, this vote needs to be redone correctly, for the results of this vote are completely false. Please do the right thing and fix this blatantly fraudulent and undemocratic system, for the honor of the University and its current, previous, and future members
