The Student Council Academic Affairs Committee is organizing a groundbreaking event on Grounds and we need your help! On February 22 the greatest concentration of talent and genius at UVA since Thomas Jefferson himself will assemble in Old Cabell Hall to speak to YOU. Eight professors will each talk for 15 minutes about the one topic that they are most passionate about in UVA’s first annual Look Hoos Talking.
It’s simple: a podium, a professor, a big idea, and the most engaging series of lectures you’ve ever heard. Inspired by TED Talks (ted.com) and motivated by what makes the University of Virginia so great – passionate professors, cutting-edge research and breakthrough ideas – Look Hoos Talking will be a thought-provoking, inspirational, and all-around fun two hour event of fascinating lectures that will engage, challenge, and downright amaze you.
But we need you to make it happen! Which professors would make the best Look Hoos Talking speakers? Whose ideas do you want to be challenged by? Elzinga or Sabato? Childress or Gallagher? Your favorite Chemistry professor or your favorite Commerce professor?
Let us know! Click the link, cast your vote, and don’t forget to come out February 22!
VOTE NOW! WE’LL BE REVIEWING NOMINATIONS ON DECEMBER 2nd!
