Student Council and UVA Police Address Safety Concerns… Make your voice heard!

On Wednesday, November 17th, at 7:00 in Minor Hall 125 Student Council
is sponsoring a panel discussion between University students and members of the
University of Virginia Police Department. The discussion is open to all University
students and will host numerous UVa Police officers.
The discussion is aimed at elucidating efforts that the Police are making to
improve safety initiatives around Grounds and allowing students to voice their
questions and concerns directly to the police. The discussion is open to any topic
relating to student safety, from SafeRide to Police presence on the Corner. Students
and police will be able share and develop ideas on how to improve these and other
student safety initiatives.
Personal and student safety has always been a primary concern of the
University as well as the Charlottesville community as a whole. In light of numerous
robberies and attacks around Grounds, Student Council is looking to strengthen
the relationship between students and the University Police through open
communication and by increasing transparency.
If there are any questions please contact the Safety and Wellness Co-Chairs
Peter Townsend or Nadia Khatouri.
