This week’s spotlight is on the Seeds of Hope! This week’s spotlight focuses on three outstanding fourth-years for their work with the upcoming mission-trip to Brazil: Margaret Schwethelm, Jackson Hill, and Jack Aspinwall. The goal of the trip is to address the social and economic injustices that exist in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as ‘bring the hope and love of Christ to shine in even the darkest and more dire places,” Jackson explains.
The Brazil trip is organized through Seeds of Hope. Its mission is to provide housing, care, and training to orphans so that they may find honest employment and survive without resorting to crime or prostitution. During the day in Brazil, the volunteers will be building houses, painting, and finding other ways to help; at night, the volunteers will gather to reflect on the day’s work. While these three individuals are being spotlighted for their hard work, it is important to note that this trip would not be possible without the third-year members of the six-person leadership team: Emelie Duke, Chris Daly, and John Mark DiGrazia. These individuals, as well as the additional volunteers, will be impacting the lives of many, and we wish them the best of luck during their week. If you would like to learn more about how to get involved in future years with the Brazil trip, please contact Margaret (mgs7h), Jackson (jjh5g), or Jack (ca3a).
