I’m ecstatic to announce that the Green Initiative Funding Tomorrow (GIFT) Grant Allocations Committee is now an official arm of Student Council. If all goes well, students will be able to apply for committee positions next semester, when GIFT will officially become active. This is exciting stuff, and I look forward to aiding GIFT in any way I can to fulfill its mission to make UVa a powerhouse in environmental sustainability by harnessing the ingenuity of the University community.
Next year, I also hope to help the ESC engage a broader segment of our community by continuing our Environmental Film & Speaker Series. Environmental sustainability is a concept that is pertinent to a large variety of disciplines, so if you have any great ideas for a lecture, speaker panel, or film event, feel free to drop a line in the comment section!!
