Welcome back from all of us Community Affairs-ers!!
We would like to thank everyone that brought back prom attire from winter break. We know that the ends of breaks are full of stressing about classes, frantically finding textbooks, and begging your parents for my Plus Dollars, so we greatly appreciate all of your thought and consideration. However, we are not done yet!!! We are once again collborating with Cinderella’s Closet to distribute the prom attire that we collect. We will be sponsoring another collection drive following spring break, so bring back anything you forgot. Cinderella’s Closet benefits Charlottesville Public School students and provides free and reduced cost prom wear. We are currently thinking of incentives for bringing dresses, so let us know if you have any ideas!
We ended last semester with a canned food collection aimed at the greater Charlottesville community. We collected over 500 pounds of canned food from the Rugby Road area, neighboring retirement communities, and Jefferson Park Avenue. We had a blast exploring residential Charlottesville, and our local food bank was extremely appreciative of the ties between the University and the community.
As always, if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please feel free to contact me by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). We would love to work with you in order to support the University and greater Charlottesville communities.
