Safety & Wellness Committee
Meet the Chairs: Edward Jenkins and Arushi Kumar
Edward Jenkins is a first year in the College from West Palm Beach, Florida. He is pre-Commerce and a mathematics major. When not working for student council or on class work, Edward enjoys spending time with the UVA salsa club, playing intramurals, and hanging out with friends. As co-chair of the Safety and Wellness Committee, Edward would like to facilitate communication between students and the committee to see how the University can be a safer place for everyone. In addition, he wants to make the University a welcoming place for all students to feel loved and accepted.
The Safety and Wellness Committee is a group of committed members who focus on promoting and strengthening safety and wellness in the University community. While several committee members are involved in many groups around grounds that advocate safety and wellness initiatives, the majority of our members are not; they actively seek to improve and disseminate information about student safety resources and to improve the resources available to students.
