Director of University Relations

“The Director shall coordinate the Council’s outreach efforts, with the goal of educating the Student Body, faculty, and administrators about the Council’s function and activities and its role at the University.” – Student Council Bylaws

Kaity Houk is a fourth-year majoring in Foreign Affairs with an Economics minor. Former Chair of the Student Council Marketing & Communications Committee, she has worked year-round to streamline Student Council’s internal processes to improve efficiency. She is committed to building Student Council’s dialogue with its students through proper communication and feedback processes.

Her goals are to establish sustainable institutional relationships among media outlets in greater Charlottesville and to promote the accurate representation of students’ interests.

An avid traveler and lover of exotic foods, Kaity has seen dozens of countries from around the world including Mongolia, India, Egypt and Italy. Her next destination is China, to continue her studies in Mandarin, politics, and culturally sustainable business practices. In her spare time she performs in student-produced theater productions, watches Saturday cartoons, and likes to cook.
