Membership Chair

The Membership Chair oversees programs and events to engage Student Council members within their own committees and with the organization as a whole. Plans for the year thus far are monthly community service activities and maintaining new Membership Guidelines. Each committee meets as a group to discuss expectations of the membership; however, the Council has a foundation for the guidelines:

  • All members must attend at least one general body meeting per semester, preferably one in which his/her committee is presenting.
  • All members must attend all committee/subcommittee meetings and events.
  • If there is a conflict you must tell your chair in advance – acceptable reasons include class, illness, etc.
  • If a meeting is missed, meeting minutes need to be read and the member is expected to contribute as necessary.
  • Within committees, members are expected to aid in the organization of projects and initiatives.
  • All members are expected to keep an active role on Student Council within their committees and the broader organization.
  • All guidelines are subject to the interpretation to the Committee chairs, Membership chair, and Executive board.
