Concerns of the Community | UVA Student Council

There is no better way to understand the University community than to meet with people face-to-face.  Over the course of this term, Student Council has had several engaged students come to our meetings and express their concerns or ideas.  As a representative, this is a great way to hear the voice of the students.  I encourage all students interested in voicing their opinions, concerns, and ideas to attend one of our Tuesday night meetings (6PM, Newcomb South Meeting Room).  Even if you’d just like to stop by and see what we are up to, we’d love to have you here!

One concern of the community that I am most excited about is the upcoming legislation regarding the new Homecomings Board.  Student Council, along with several other organizations across the University will be recognizing the formation of this Board over the coming weeks.  Even though Homecomings seems far off in the distance, it is imperative to have this organization gaining steam now to plan the large-scale events characteristic of a Homecomings week.  After a successful revival of Homecomings last year, I am looking forward to an even stronger effort in 2012!
