Giving Tree: Prom Wear and Book Drive | UVA Student Council

I hope you are all having a relaxing and enjoyable spring break.  Just because we are in the middle of a leadership transition doesn’t mean we have stopped working!  Student Council has been collaborating with the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority to collect prom wear and children’s books for local Charlottesville students.

When you are doing some spring cleaning over break, please bring back any dresses, shoes, purses, or jewelry you or your friends would be willing to donate.  All donations will go to girls 8th grade and up through Cinderella’s Closet.

Guys, don’t think that you are excluded from this initiative.  We all know that we have some children’s books that we never read anymore.  Bring them back to Charlottesville to help support the local school system!

Books and prom wear can be dropped off in collection bins in Newcomb 164 (PAC- on the same floor as the Pav), in sorority houses, and in dorm associations during the week after spring break (March 12-16).  If you cannot make it to any of these drop off locations, please email us your location at UVAprom@gmail.com and we will come pick up the prom wear and/or books.

If you have any questions please contact either Annie Wilkins (acw3yv@virginia.edu) or me (jlr5dw@virginia.edu).  Thank you for your support!  Enjoy the rest of your semester!
