Here’s the most important low-down on the build-up around grounds:
According to the Office of Facilities Planning and Construction, the scaffolding on the rotunda is expected to be removed before the 2013 Final Exercises. In fact, the roof restoration project is ahead of schedule! Scaffolding should begin coming down at the end of April or beginning of May. Of course, the roof replacement is only phase one of a number of renovations of the rotunda to occur over the next few years. Future renovations (especially replacement of the column caps) will require additional scaffolding, but it is not likely to be as extensive as it is currently.
Stay tuned for more updates!
