Committee Members (Including M&C, Technology, CIO Consultants, Appropriations)

Committee member recruitment will begin in March 2012 for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Committees are charged with heading up initiative and advocacy efforts on behalf of UVA’s Student Council. Each committee, led by committee chairs, generally works towards accomplishing multiple initiatives simultaneously. For more information regarding each of the committees and their initiatives, please go to our About page.

The Process: Online applications must be submitted by Wednesday at 11:59PM. Applicants will be contacted the following Monday to sign up for a group interview for the committee member position, which will be held throughout the week. Decisions will be e-mailed out by the Sunday thereafter.

Club Sports Council

Apply to be a member of the Club Sports Council Board. Positions include president, webmaster, and board members. For more information on the Club Sports Council, click here. Check back in Spring for applications!

Board of Audit and Management

The Board of Audit and Management is an independent body comprised of five commissioners. Working alongside Student Council and the Newcomb Business Office, the Board ensures that the Student Activities Fund is expended in accordance with Student Council and University policies. The Board has the authority to administer audits of any CIO receiving appropriations and may conduct interviews when deemed necessary.

Elected Positions

Spring 2012 elections will occur from 10am on Monday, February 20 – 4pm on Thursday, February 23. Every school at the University— from the College to the School of Law—has an elected representative on Student Council. Representatives are elected every Spring in University-wide elections. All student elections are managed by the University Board of Elections. Please visit their website for more information.

Appointed Positions

Appointments begin after elections. Positions include Chief of Cabinet, Director of University Relations, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and our 11 Committee Chairs. This involves a process of online application and interview. Check back in March/April for the 2012-2013 academic year.
