Looking for another way to beat Tech? | UVA Student Council

Sometimes, competition can be healthy. This week, Student Council is helping the American Red Cross Club make it even healthier by supporting their Fans Blood Challenge in preparation for the Wahoos’ last game against Virginia Tech on Nov. 24.

Join us in attempting to raise more blood donations than Virginia Tech fans. The drive will take place this week on Wednesday (Nov. 14) from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. in Ern Commons and Friday (Nov. 16) from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Newcomb South Meeting Room. There will be shirts, food, and door prizes for all donors.

Other sponsoring organizations include AED, Sigma Alpha Nu, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Men’s Rugby.

There are lots of different blood drives around grounds, but know that there is no better time to give blood than during the holiday season. Given Hurricane Sandy, we have seen the importance of community contributions. Giving blood is one way you can help save a life.

Remember to drink plenty of water and bring a photo ID!

Give blood, support your community, and support the Wahoos as they take on the UNC Tar Heels this Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
