This is a week which celebrates the LGBT community here at UVA. Offered are fantastic opportunities to better understand some of the issues that affect this particular community, and to show your solidarity and support. Diversity Initiatives is co-sponsoring two of the events on Thursday.

Sunday, November 8th

What: Donna Rose, Transgender Rights Advocate and Educator

What: Dinner and a Movie: Queer Life in the Holy Land (Yossi & Jagger screening)
When: 5:30-7:00 pm

Come have dinner and a movie and learn about the rights and lives of members of the LGBT community in Israel! Queer & Allied Activism and Hoos For Israel are excited to present a screening of Israeli film Yossi and Jagger. This hour-long movie about a gay couple serving in the Israeli military will be followed by a discussion led by Professor Rakefet Zalashik on the roots and development of the LGBT movement in Israel. Food will be provided!
