Scholarships

Throughout the year, organizations like the Alumni Association and the Off-Grounds Housing Office allocate funds to Student Council for distributing scholarships available to the student body. The Scholarship Committee connects students to these opportunities and chooses recipients based on the qualifications of each scholarship.

The Scholarship Committee is comprised of the Scholarship Chair, Representatives, Committee Chairs, and Committee Members, including at least one undergraduate student and one graduate student.

Types of Scholarships Awarded:

Financial Need: As determined by the University

Leadership: Both in the University Community and in the Charlottesville Community

Academics: Academic Achievement is determined at the discretion of the committee

Scholarships Awarded:

  • Off Grounds Housing Scholarship – $1000 scholarships awarded to students who are living off-grounds based on financial need (Fall 2013).
  • The Alumni Student Cooperative Scholarship (TASC) – 20 $2000 scholarships awarded to students based on financial need, leadership and academic excellence (Spring 2013).
