‘Twas the Night After Finals… | UVA Student Council

‘Twas the night after finals, and all through Grounds
Not a creature was stirring, not even Noble the hound.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that young Wahoos would soon be there.

The students traveled home as fast as they may
While hoping the long hours in Aldy would pay.
They anxiously awaited their semester grades
But thought, “What the heck, it’s time for a break.”

…And that’s about as far as my poetry skills go.

It was such a fun semester, but we all put in the hours at the library (hello Club Clem!) working hard for our classes too. The time off is well deserved, and I hope everyone has a fabulous winter break! Whether you’re spending these weeks at home, traveling abroad, or coming back early for J-term, there’s lots to look forward to. And one of those special things this year is the Chik-fil-A Bowl down in Atlanta….Wahoowa!

Everyone on Student Council has been hard at work all semester planning fun events and implementing new initiatives to improve the lives of the student body. I know I benefitted from those new power strips in Clem during the busy finals time! Even though it’s now technically a time off, the Reps, the Executive Body, and the Committee Chairs are all still working to get ready for next semester. Keep sending in ideas to SpeakUpUVA and we’ll get to as many of them as possible to make REAL changes for you all. I’m looking forward to a great spring in Charlottesville, and I hope you are too!

Peace, love, and best wishes ‘til 2012
